Andre Ventura

Andre Ventura is a prominent figure in Portuguese politics, known as the leader of the far-right Chega (Enough) party. He is considered an anti-establishment figure. Ventura gained significant attention as a candidate in the recent Portuguese presidential election in January and February 2026. He advanced to the runoff election against Antonio Jose Seguro of the Socialist Party, marking only the second time in Portugal's history since its fascist dictatorship ended that a presidential election required a runoff. While Ventura's performance in the first round was notable, signaling a surge in far-right support, he was ultimately defeated by Seguro in the runoff.
