Jacques Moretti

Jacques Moretti is the co-owner, along with his wife Jessica Moretti, of Le Constellation bar in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. He is currently under criminal investigation for involuntary manslaughter, bodily harm, and arson through negligence following a deadly fire at the bar on New Year's Eve that resulted in 41 deaths and 115 injuries. Moretti and his wife have been questioned by lawyers representing the victims' families. He has been ordered to pretrial detention for at least three months, due to being considered a flight risk. His lawyers have criticized what they describe as "lies" and "public vindictiveness" directed towards the Morettis. The fire has prompted a criminal investigation into local officials and a ban on pyrotechnics in indoor public venues in the Valais canton.
