Lewie Chiaramello

Lewie Chiaramello is a pro-Palestinian activist affiliated with Palestine Action. He gained recent media attention for participating in a hunger strike while imprisoned in the UK. The hunger strike, which Chiaramello participated in for weeks, along with other activists like Heba Muraisi and Kamran Ahmed, aimed to protest the UK's designation of Palestine Action and demand a fair trial. The activists also protested the UK's support for Israel and its arms trade with Israeli companies. The hunger strike garnered significant attention, with writers, scholars, and former hunger strikers expressing solidarity and urging the UK government to address the activists' demands. The strike ended after reports surfaced that Elbit Systems UK, an Israeli arms company subsidiary, failed to win a UK government contract, which the activists viewed as a concession. Chiaramello, along with other activists, has since begun re-feeding.
