Stanislav Carpiuc

Stanislav Carpiuc, a 27-year-old Romanian national, has been convicted in a London court for his role in a series of arson attacks targeting properties and a car linked to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The attacks occurred in May 2025 and involved the damage of a former residence of Starmer, an apartment building he had a share in, and his former SUV. Carpiuc was found guilty alongside Ukrainian national Roman Lavrynovych, who admitted to setting fire to a car for payment after claiming to be threatened. While unverified reports suggest these attacks may be part of a broader campaign of sabotage and disinformation orchestrated by Russian intelligence services, Carpiuc's conviction places him at the center of a significant criminal case with potential geopolitical implications. He was cleared of damaging two properties by fire, unlike his co-accused Lavrynovych.
