Deir Hafer

Deir Hafer is a town located in the eastern Aleppo Governorate of Syria. It has recently become newsworthy due to a shift in territorial control. Previously held by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the Syrian army has now taken control of the town, along with dozens of other towns and villages in the region. This takeover occurred following an internationally-sponsored deal that saw the SDF withdraw from the area.
