Wang Cheong House is a high-rise public housing complex located in Hong Kong. It gained recent notoriety due to a fire that occurred there. Video footage has emerged showing the rapid spread of the blaze, corroborating official accounts of the fire's origin and progression. Following the fire, structural reinforcement work was undertaken at the building. However, the location is again in the news because three construction workers involved in this reinforcement work at Wang Fuk Court (likely the same location as Wang Cheong House) have been arrested on suspicion of theft. Police seized approximately HK$90,000 worth of gold jewellery. The incident highlights both the vulnerability of public housing to fire and the potential for crime during reconstruction efforts.
