Cristina Álvarez

Cristina Álvarez is an advisor who worked with Begoña Gómez, the wife of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, at La Moncloa (the Prime Minister's office). She is now implicated in the legal proceedings against Gómez. Álvarez's role in the creation of a university chair at the Complutense University of Madrid, allegedly facilitated by Gómez's influence, and the use of related software are under scrutiny. Judge Juan Carlos Peinado has concluded his investigation into Gómez, Álvarez, and businessman Juan Carlos Barrabés, potentially leading to a jury trial. Álvarez's defense, along with Gómez's, argues there's no basis for a jury trial. Manos Limpias, a private prosecution, has requested that the judge drop the charges against Álvarez, arguing she was simply following orders.
