Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta is a city located on the island of Java, Indonesia. It is newsworthy due to its connection to a recent aviation incident. A turboprop ATR 42-500 aircraft, operated by Indonesia Air Transport, departed from Yogyakarta en route to the capital city of South Sulawesi. The plane, carrying 11 people, lost contact with ground control while approaching a mountainous region between Java and Sulawesi. A search and rescue operation was launched, and wreckage believed to be from the missing plane has been found on the slope of Mount Bulusaraung in South Sulawesi. The body of one person on board has been recovered.
