Renfe

Renfe is Spain's state-owned railway operator. It is in the news due to a recent high-speed train collision in southern Spain, near Adamuz in the Andalucían region, which has resulted in the deaths of at least 45 people and injuries to many more. While the train that derailed was operated by Iryo, a private company, the oncoming train it collided with was a Renfe train. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the accident, with initial reports suggesting a fracture in the track may have been a contributing factor.
