Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti)

Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, also known as Hemedti, is the leader of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a Sudanese paramilitary group currently engaged in a brutal civil war against the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) since April 2023. The conflict is characterized by the increasing use of drones by both sides, resulting in significant civilian casualties. Hemedti is newsworthy due to the ongoing conflict and its regional implications. Recently, Sudan condemned Uganda for hosting Hemedti, viewing it as an insult to the Sudanese people. The RSF also reported airstrikes by the Sudanese army on Nyala, the RSF's administrative capital.
