Mayrit

Mayrit is a tunnel boring machine (TBM) currently being used to expand Line 11 of the Madrid Metro. It is the first TBM to work on the Madrid Metro since 2009. News coverage focuses on the commencement of its tunneling operations, specifically the 6km stretch between Comillas and Conde de Casal. The machine's activation marks a significant step in the Line 11 expansion project, which aims to improve connectivity between the south and east of Madrid by adding five new stations.
